[I laughed when I reread this post. I am so not a scheduling Mom anymore. SEH and BKH were super sleepers, but they did it on their own not with my help. Parenting style definitely evolves as you and your children grow. This is something I decided to grow out of. I'm pretty sure she was sleeping through the night at 3 months old and I am certain I did not stick to this scheduling plan that I talk about in this note.]
B's 7 weeks old
B is just about two months old. We're doing well, my blood pressure is good, and I'm OFF THE MEDS!!!!! However, I've been getting so little sleep it's been hard to find joy in these things.
So--I've scheduled her. I always schedule my babies--eventually. Never have I done it this early. However, things are not getting done, I'm turning into a gray monster, and my husband is beginning to lose as much sleep as I am which in turn is not making him nearly as frindly as usual, too.
This is only day 3 of the scheduling, and I did give in last night and let her nurse to sleep--in my bed where she stayed until I woke up at 4 AM with a throbbing arm--, but all in all it's going well. Especially during the day. I'm mostly writing this note so that if God blesses us with another little I want the reminder that the fruits of scheduling are real and it's much easier to just get it over with than put it off. As I've told other Mom's, she knows I love her despite the occasional crying. I know the difference between a hurt cry and a "I'm so tired I can't do this, Mom" cry and respond accordingly. So, now I revel in the break that I''m getting from a formerly-nursed-on-demand baby and look forward to retrieving a well-rested baby from her slumbers around 12:30. Ahhhh....now, I'm off to get some things done--like a shower!!
